The dentist needs to make preparations for the new tooth and then you have to wait while your prosthesis is being made in the laboratory. Once the prosthetic tooth is ready, the crown can then be fitted. It is important that a crown fits perfectly to ensure comfort and longevity.

A procedure such as this one is obviously not cheap, and unfortunately many medical aid schemes do not pay for visits to the dentist. But the benefits are huge, so if you can afford it, it is worthwhile. You will have a crown that looks and feels like a real tooth. Remember that dental implants need the same careful looking after as real ones, so do not forget to floss and brush daily.
